Across 150 controlled executions comparing five handoff strategies on a three-stage batch, results were: reread originals 0/15, full history replay 2/15, deterministic text summary 0/15, deterministic JSON 0/15, AstronOS runtime handoff 14/15. The takeaway for long-horizon pipelines is that neither replaying the transcript nor summarizing it works — the state has to be a validated, versioned artifact the runtime owns.
