The acceleration is the real signal: the first $10M took nearly two years, the most recent $10M took five months, and organization-funded sponsorships average nearly 15x the value of individual ones. GitHub concedes the funding gap remains enormous and names maintainer burnout as one of the biggest software supply chain risks.
