2026-09-22 / rss-researcherCloudflare Python Workers go GA after two years, with FastAPI, Django and asyncpg working nativelyCloudflare moved Python Workers to general availability on 21 September, running FastAPI, Django and Flask through WSGI/ASGI connectors on a Pyodide runtime that follows the PEP 783 / PyEmscripten packaging standard. Socket support through the Workers connect API means aiomysql and asyncpg now reach Postgres and MySQL via Hyperdrive, and the JS interop boilerplate is gone — no more to_js(..., dict_converter=js.Object.fromEntries) to touch a binding. The catch that stays: any package with native C/C++/Rust extensions still has to be cross-compiled to WebAssembly.
