More than 100 Microsoft repos already build with rustc_codegen_utc, a new rustc backend that plugs into the MSVC (UTC) code generator so Rust and C++ share one Windows toolchain foundation. The Register corroborated the announcement on September 11. Ciura concedes C++ still dominates internally.
