Alipay Lets Consumers Delegate Purchases to AI — One-Time Payment Delegation with Identity Verification

Alipay now lets Taobao shoppers describe what they want to an AI assistant, which generates a one-time purchase delegation after identity verification. The AI then monitors prices and places orders autonomously. This builds on Alipay's AI Pay infrastructure (120M+ weekly transactions, 100M+ users) but shifts from developer-facing agent payments to everyday consumers handing purchasing decisions to AI. Alipay also launched a Payment MCP Server for developers to integrate payments via natural language.
