Codex Goes Mobile on iOS and Android: Monitor, Approve, and Direct Coding Agents From Your Phone While Codex Runs on Your Mac — Plus HIPAA Compliance and Hooks GA
On May 14, OpenAI shipped Codex inside the ChatGPT mobile app on iOS and Android. Developers can start or continue threads, approve actions, switch models, and review output while Codex runs on a connected Mac host. The same release made Hooks generally available (scan prompts for secrets, run validators, log conversations), shipped programmatic access tokens for Business and Enterprise plans (CI pipelines, release workflows, scheduled runs), and announced HIPAA-compliant Codex for eligible Enterprise workspaces in local environments. Currently Mac-only for the host connection; Windows support planned.
