SAP acquired Prior Labs, pioneer of Tabular Foundation Models (TFMs), committing €1B+ over four years to scale it into a frontier AI lab focused on structured business data. Unlike LLMs, TFMs are purpose-built for tabular data and predict business outcomes (payment delays, churn risk, supplier risk) with higher accuracy. Prior Labs will operate independently.
