GitHub Copilot Ships CLI Agent and 'Ask Question' Tool: Agents Now Pause to Clarify Ambiguous Tasks Instead of Guessing

GitHub introduced a Copilot CLI agent (May 13) with an Ask Question tool that lets agents pause and ask focused clarifying questions when additional context is needed, reducing hallucinated assumptions. The new unified sessions view shows all active agent sessions with title, type, elapsed time, and status. Global .agent.md files (~/.copilot/agents/) now define custom agents available across all workspaces.
