Google Opens Managed Agents Preview in Gemini API — One API Call Spins Up an Isolated Agent
Announced May 19, Managed Agents lets developers spin up an autonomous agent with a single Gemini API call — it reasons, uses tools, and executes code in an isolated Linux environment on Google's side. Files and state persist across follow-up calls for multi-turn sessions, available via the new Interactions API and Google AI Studio. This is the API equivalent of Antigravity's desktop agent: serverless agent execution where Google manages the sandbox, making it trivial to deploy agent workloads without infrastructure.
