GitHub paused new sign-ups for Copilot Pro, Pro+, and Student plans (effective April 20, 2026) due to agentic workflows consuming far more resources than the plan structure supports. Opus models were removed from Pro plans entirely; Opus 4.5 and 4.6 are being removed from Pro+, leaving only Opus 4.7 for Pro+ users. Weekly token consumption caps and session limits were added, with Pro+ receiving 5x the limits of Pro. Business and Enterprise plans are unaffected.
