Apple Previews Gemini-Powered Siri and Lets Users Pick Claude as the System Assistant
Apple's June 9 WWDC keynote previewed the next generation of Apple Intelligence and a rebuilt Siri running on a custom Google Gemini model (reported ~1.2T parameters under an ~$1B/year deal), now living in a standalone app with visual intelligence. A new Extensions system lets users select ChatGPT, Gemini, or — for the first time — Claude as the system assistant provider, making Claude a native iPhone option.
