Amazon introduced Bedrock Managed Knowledge Base, walking through simplified setup, retrieval quality improvements, and production-readiness for search built specifically to be consumed by agents rather than humans. The agent-as-consumer framing is the shift — retrieval tuned for tool calls has different latency and precision requirements than a search box. It arrives the same week enterprise RAG trust, not retrieval quality, was identified as the actual adoption bottleneck.
