Mastercard Ships Developer Toolkit for Building Contactless Mobile Wallets

Mastercard released a set of software tools and services letting banks and fintechs add contactless payments to their own iOS and Android apps rather than routing through Apple Pay or Google Pay. This is card-network infrastructure aimed directly at reducing platform-wallet dependency. Comes the same week as BBVA going live on Swift's new global retail payments scheme — both are disintermediation plays.
