CROSS-CATEGORY: Memory Is Becoming the Contested Layer — Unabyss (#1, 598 votes) and ZooData (#1, 606 votes) Top Consecutive Days With Agent Data Substrates
Product Hunt's #1 product two days running was an agent data layer: Unabyss for Claude ('shared memory across all apps and LLMs,' 598 votes, July 17) and ZooData ('the data layer for AI agents,' 606 votes, July 18). Neither is an application — both are substrate. This is the same land-grab that made Segment valuable in the SaaS era, replayed one layer up: whoever holds cross-application agent memory holds the switching cost, because the agent is otherwise trivially replaceable. Builders shipping agents should assume the memory layer, not the agent, is where lock-in accrues.
