Ole-Christian Galbo Engstrøm (arXiv 2607.16138, cs.LG/cs.DS) optimizes two computational steps shared by both Improved Kernel Partial Least Squares algorithms, which are already among the fastest PLS calibration methods available. This is incremental numerical-methods work rather than a capability advance, and matters mainly to chemometrics and spectroscopy practitioners running PLS at scale.
