Microsoft Agent Framework's Build 2026 release makes the Agent Harness — shell and filesystem access, human-in-the-loop approval flows, and context management across long-running sessions — a first-class stable feature, alongside skills, memory, and middleware. Stable integrations now include both the GitHub Copilot SDK and the Claude Agent SDK. Hosted Agents in Foundry Agent Service package your own agent code as a container on Foundry-managed infrastructure with built-in identity, autoscaling, managed session state, observability, and versioning. MAF hit 1.0 GA on April 2, converging AutoGen and Semantic Kernel.
