Claude Code v2.1.217 Fixes a Memory Leak Where Truncated MCP Outputs Retained the Full Untruncated Payload
Claude Code Changelog·high signal
Truncation was cosmetic at the display layer only — the full MCP tool result stayed resident in memory, so long sessions against chatty MCP servers leaked steadily. This is the second consecutive release where the bug was a gap between what the harness showed and what it actually held. Anyone running long-lived agent daemons against high-volume MCP servers (database, log, or search tools) was paying for this invisibly.
