Claude Code v2.1.217 Fixes Auto-Compact Never Firing for Opus 4.8 on Bedrock

Auto-compaction silently never triggered for Claude Opus 4.8 running on Amazon Bedrock, so long Bedrock sessions ran to hard context exhaustion instead of compacting. Combined with the same release's fix for managed settings not governing all telemetry signals, the pattern is that enterprise deployment paths get less coverage than the direct API path. If you route through Bedrock, verify compaction actually happened rather than assuming parity with direct sessions.
