OpenAI ships Micro, a $230 physical keypad for driving ChatGPT and Codex sessions
Developed with specialty keyboard maker Work Louder, Micro has six customizable agent keys plus six command keys, connecting over Bluetooth or USB, with color-coded status feedback — white for idle, blue for thinking, green for complete, red for error — and a voice dictation button. Users assign individual ChatGPT sessions or projects to keys for fast switching. TechCrunch's Lucas Ropek found it fun once programmed but flagged a steep learning curve and concluded it only justifies the price for ChatGPT power users; skeptics have called it closer to a prank than a product.
