Willison posted on Opus 5's launch day noting he had been offline kayaking with sea otters and had not yet put the model through its paces, saying only that the buzz is positive. Given that his hands-on evaluations are typically the fastest independent read on a frontier release, the absence itself is worth noting — his substantive Opus 5 assessment, including the pelican benchmark he has applied to Kimi K3 and others, is still pending.
