Atlassian Turned the Agent Threat Into Free Product — Then the Market Knocked 11.8% Off It a Week Later Anyway
On July 15 Atlassian shipped a system letting teams assign work to Claude Code, Cursor and GitHub Copilot from inside Jira, with its own Jira Coding Agent included in every paid Jira Cloud plan at no additional cost — a deliberate no-monetization play across 350,000+ accounts and 85% of the Fortune 500, backed by the Teamwork Graph, which Atlassian benchmarks at 44% more accurate agent results using 48% fewer tokens. Subscription ARR accelerated across three straight quarters (20% → 22% → 23%) and the stock had rebounded to $93.29 by July 17 from a $56 low against a $206 high. Then Presence landed and Atlassian fell 11.8% in two sessions — the orchestration-layer defense is real product, but the market is not yet paying for it; the August 6 fiscal Q4 cloud growth number is the test.
