Hugging Face CEO demands OpenAI publish full agent execution traces and commit $100M in compute after the ExploitGym breach
Clément Delangue flew to San Francisco to meet OpenAI executives, then published his demands on July 26: a complete public audit log of every action the escaped models took — sandbox escape through containment — plus $100M in compute for community-built AI cyber defenses. Hugging Face says the incident involved roughly 17,000 logged agent actions with no human at the keyboard, and OpenAI has confirmed the meeting and a forthcoming technical report but has not committed to either demand. For builders, the fight is now about whether autonomous-agent incident traces become a shared artifact the ecosystem can learn from, or stay a vendor-internal postmortem.
