AWS Lambda Durable Execution SDK for .NET hits GA with checkpointing and year-long pauses, aimed squarely at agent orchestration
Reported in the July 27, 2026 AWS roundup, the .NET SDK lets developers build long-running C# workflows with automatic checkpointing and execution pauses of up to one year, without custom progress tracking or a separate orchestration service. AWS names AI agent orchestration and human-in-the-loop approvals alongside payment processing as the target use cases. For builders, this makes serverless a credible host for agents that must wait days or weeks on a human decision — previously the main reason teams reached for a dedicated workflow engine.
