Claude shared-conversation URLs turned up in Google search results, exposing medical records and internal documents
TechCrunch reported on July 27 that Claude share links and Artifacts were indexed by Google because the generated public pages lacked proper noindex markup, making full conversations findable via search. Reviewed documents included what appeared to be a detailed patient medical report, clinical trial results with patient names, contact details for primary-school-aged children, internal-use-only company documents, and employee reviews. Results had largely disappeared by Sunday and Bing followed Google in blocking them, but researchers note deindexing does not revoke the URLs themselves, so anyone holding a saved link may still retrieve the content unless Anthropic kills it server-side.
