MiniMax Releases H3, an Open-Weights Video Model Doing Native 2K With Stereo Audio on Chinese Silicon
Shanghai's MiniMax launched H3 on July 30, an all-modality model taking text, image, video, and audio input and producing clips up to 15 seconds at 2K resolution with native stereo sound, plus footage editing and motion transfer from reference material. MiniMax claims 2K generation costs under a third of mainstream rivals and says H3 was designed to run on several Chinese-made chips — part of the broader push off US semiconductors. Weights are promised within days, and the model is already live on Vercel's AI Gateway and fal; MiniMax shares jumped nearly 13% on the announcement.
