Kaku v0.17.0 Adds Provider-Hosted Web Search and Hardens Its Agent Tool Boundaries
Kaku, a Rust terminal built specifically for AI coding, shipped v0.17.0 on 2026-08-02. It adds api_mode = "responses" for Responses-compatible endpoints and turns on provider-hosted web search without needing a separate search key, so the agent gets search without a second vendor. The security-relevant change: tool paths, web requests, and code search boundaries were tightened, and incomplete streams no longer get scored as successful turns, which is the failure mode that silently corrupts agent loops.
