AWS announced the Agentic Catalog Experience in Amazon Quick, an AI workflow that lets data curators discover upstream catalog assets in natural language and auto-create Datasets and Topics with inherited metadata. It is a narrow but telling pattern: the agent's job is not to answer analytics questions but to do the catalog plumbing — inheritance and asset creation — that normally blocks self-serve BI from working at all.
