The GitHub Changelog carried a dense run of model-control entries: Copilot code review reached general availability for agent skills and MCP on July 29, default model enablement for Copilot Business and Enterprise landed the same day, enterprise teams model policy targeting entered public preview on July 31, and Gemini 2.5 Pro plus Gemini 3 Flash were deprecated on July 31. Read together with Grok 4.5 arriving July 28 and Claude Opus 5 on July 24, the pattern is that Copilot's model roster now churns fast enough that GitHub is building admin machinery specifically to pin teams to approved models. If you script against Copilot model IDs, the deprecation notice is the one to act on.
