In 'The Shape of Things to Come, Part 1: The Continuous Thunderdome,' published this week at yegge.ai, Steve Yegge argues traditional CI/CD collapses under agent-driven commit rates and will be replaced by simultaneous commit landing with diagnostic swarming — what he calls the Thunderdome, plus a 'Land Rush' megabatch pattern he uses to drain a 166-deep merge queue. He also predicts human code review 'has very nearly run its course,' surviving only as vestigial SOC 2 compliance theater, and names a successor to the software factory: the 'Wish Factory,' where agents implement issues directly from user reports.
