Snyk's Second Agentic Adoption Report Says Security Teams See Only a Third of Their Real AI Footprint
Snyk released Volume II of its State of Agentic AI Adoption on August 4, drawing on more than 3,000 enterprise accounts. Full-stack agentic architecture rose from 36% to 50% of organizations in six months and agentic adoption from 28% to 33%, but the headline finding is that the true AI surface - agent frameworks, MCP servers, retrieval systems, vector databases, datasets and supporting tooling - is roughly three times what a model inventory shows, and that ratio held constant across every region measured. For builders, the practical read is that AI-BOM tooling is becoming a procurement line item separate from model governance.
