Warp unbundles its agent into a standalone CLI that muxes sessions and delegates across Claude Code and Codex
Warp launched the Warp Agent CLI on August 4, running the Warp Agent in Ghostty, iTerm2, VS Code, Windows Terminal or Mac Terminal. The differentiator is architectural: a tmux-like indirection layer between agent and shell that keeps sessions persistent across directory changes, drives full-screen apps (vim, sqlite, Python REPLs), and runs remote SSH sessions without installing a binary on the far side. It auto-routes by task complexity across frontier and open-weight models with YAML-defined custom routers, and its orchestrator can delegate to subagents running entirely different harnesses — including Claude Code and Codex. Pricing starts at $18/month for $20 of inference, $10 ad-hoc credits, or BYO API key.
