Three Show HN posts within a 20-hour window all attack agent overhead from different sides: Wallfacer, a terminal session manager for Claude Code and others (27 points, 16 comments, 8 hours old); HUD, an open-source minimal terminal UI for Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode (22 points, 20 hours); and Sift, an MCP aggregator that collapses hundreds of tool definitions down to two exposed tools (4 points, 8 hours). Sift is the most consequential idea of the three — every MCP server you connect burns context on tool schemas before the agent does any work, and aggregation behind a two-tool facade is the obvious fix nobody had shipped. The low point totals suggest the pattern is earlier than the problem is widespread.
