GitHub's lawyers built their own Copilot CLI agents in Markdown and halved contract review time
Two GitHub attorneys with no engineering background shipped internal tooling on Copilot CLI: Principal Product Counsel Ngandu Kasuku built terms-ai, a repo of pre-approved agreements, drafting resources and a plain-language style guide that 'cut my review and drafting time roughly in half'; Online Safety Counsel Jesse Geraci built a DMCA source-code analyzer that grew into a desktop app with reusable skills and agents for intake, playbook alignment, risk scoring, evidence verification and escalation routing. Both wrote their core instructions as plain-language Markdown files rather than code — a concrete data point on where the agent-authoring boundary now sits.
