Brett Adcock's Hark Previewed 'Handoff,' a Browser-Use Agent, Six Months After a $700M Series A
TechCrunch reported August 5 that Hark, led by Figure founder Brett Adcock, opened a waitlist for Hark Handoff — an agent that navigates sites without APIs (Target, Walmart, OpenTable, LinkedIn are named) to order food, book travel, file taxes, shop and make reservations by predicting the next click or keystroke rather than the next text token. The company raised $700M in Series A funding in May and plans to ship by end of summer, claiming it is both faster and materially cheaper than GPT 5.5 and Opus 4.8 for this work. It lands in an already crowded field — Google, OpenAI and Anthropic computer-use agents plus Browser Use, Polar, Strawberry and Aside — which makes the interesting question whether $700M buys a moat in a category where the interface is somebody else's website.
