CROSS-CATEGORY: CRM, Support, and Marketing All Repriced Away From the Seat in the Same Week — and the Market Punished the One That Said So Out Loud
HubSpot's August 5 call named the mechanism explicitly — customers want to swap seats for credits, sales cycles are lengthening because of the shift to outcome-based agent pricing, and NRR slid to 102% on downgrades — and the stock took its worst-ever single-day loss. Salesforce is now running at least three concurrent Agentforce pricing models (Flex Credits at ~$0.10 per action, $2-per-conversation, and $125–$550/user/month bundles) plus a pay-per-resolution Help Agent that went GA in July with PenFed, Fisher & Paykel and PowerSchool live, while Zendesk has moved its AI agents to resolution-based pricing entirely. The tell is that Agentforce is only deployed by roughly 12% of Salesforce's 150,000+ customers at $540M ARR: the pricing model changed years before the adoption curve did, which is why the revenue math looks bad in the interim.
