Two Separate 'Let Your Agent Drive Your Phone' Repos Appeared on the Same Day
On August 7 two unrelated developers published phone-control harnesses within hours of each other: ShawnPana/phone-harness (492 stars, Python, MIT, 'let your agent control your phone') and Samin100/codex-ios-assistant (166 stars, Python, MIT), which drives and inspects an iPhone from Codex through iMessage and Shortcuts. Neither is affiliated with the other and both reached triple-digit stars within 48 hours of creation. The Shortcuts-and-iMessage route is the interesting one for builders on locked-down platforms: it gets an agent onto iOS without jailbreaks, MDM, or an accessibility-driver stack, using automation surfaces Apple already ships.
