GitHub's early-August changelog added Kimi K3 as a selectable model in Copilot (2026-08-06) and moved Copilot code review effort levels to general availability (2026-08-07), alongside an ROI section in the Copilot impact dashboard. Effort levels going GA is the operationally relevant one — it makes review depth a per-invocation dial rather than a fixed cost, which is the same knob Claude Code and Codex exposed earlier this year and is becoming standard across harnesses.
