Anthropic, Macquarie Asset Management and GIC Launch 'Theseus Infrastructure' — a Purpose-Built Data Center Platform With Anthropic as Anchor Tenant
On August 10 Anthropic announced a strategic partnership with Macquarie Asset Management and Singapore's GIC to form Theseus Infrastructure, a platform that will develop, operate and lease data centers to Anthropic under long-term agreements. Macquarie-managed funds and GIC will own the platform and fund the majority of equity per project, with Anthropic as anchor tenant and an initial US focus — structurally offloading capex the way OpenAI has done with Stargate. Anthropic also pledged to pay 100% of grid-upgrade costs and cover consumer electricity price increases attributable to its own demand, a direct response to the local anti-data-center pushback now shaping US siting fights.
