Unverified: An Undergraduate Claims AI Proved the Imbalance Conjecture and Disproved Teschner's Bondage-Number Conjecture
A self-identified fourth-year theoretical CS undergraduate posted to r/singularity (289 upvotes / 44 comments) claiming that after seeing recent AI results in graph theory they bought compute and produced a proof of the Imbalance Conjecture and a counterexample to Teschner's bondage-number conjecture. Independent verification does not exist: the Imbalance Conjecture (Kozerenko–Skochko, 2014) is still listed as open and verified only computationally to 12 vertices, and the literature on Teschner's conjecture runs the other way — prior work settled it positively for almost all graphs and for planar and projective-planar cases. Reported here as a community claim only; treat as unconfirmed until a preprint and a referee exist.
