SpaceXAI and Cursor ship Grok Bot: persistent agents that each get their own cloud computer and drive apps through the UI, not APIs
Grok Bot entered early beta on August 11 across Mac, iOS, Windows and Linux, bundled into SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra and Cursor Teams Premium (roughly $120/month tiers). Each bot is provisioned its own cloud computer, signs into the user's existing tools with their credentials, and keeps working through multi-step jobs while the user is away — operating software interfaces directly rather than through API integrations, and carrying memory of past conversations and user preferences across tasks. The architectural bet is that credentialed GUI operation beats integration coverage; the corresponding risk is that every agent now holds a logged-in session to the user's entire SaaS surface with no API-scoped permission boundary.
