Woxi hit the Hacker News front page on August 12 with 122 points: an open-source Wolfram Language interpreter written in Rust, shipping a browser-based interpreter, a CLI, a Jupyter kernel, and a native notebook editor, with everything executing locally and no data leaving the machine. Its headline performance claim is starting faster than Wolfram's own `wolframscript`. The page does not state feature coverage against Mathematica, so this is early rather than a drop-in replacement — but it is the same pattern as Dograh's #1 finish the same day: reimplement a proprietary runtime in a systems language, give it away, and let the incumbent keep the enterprise license revenue while losing the default.
