Twitch Opted Every Streamer Into Amazon AI Training by Default — Streams, VODs, Clips, and Chat Logs Included
Twitch announced on August 12 that channel content will train Amazon's generative AI models, and 404 Media confirmed the setting is opt-in by default: users must manually uncheck 'Allow your channel content to train generative AI content models at Amazon' in security settings. The scope covers live streams, VODs, clips, chat messages, and channel images and text; AutoMod and auto-captioning are unaffected and not covered by the toggle. Twitch's Chief Monetization Officer had said in 2024 that content was already used in 'a prototyping, not in any kind of production scale, capacity' — so the 2026 change is the production-scale switch, buried in a settings page most streamers will never open.
