git-knife Takes 165 Points on Show HN for Editing Commit Messages, Authors, and Dates Like a Spreadsheet
therealyt/git-knife drew 165 points and 101 comments — a comment-to-point ratio suggesting real argument — with a spreadsheet interface over history rewriting instead of interactive rebase. It matters more now than it would have two years ago: agent-generated commit streams are noisy, and bulk-cleaning authorship and messages before a PR is a chore that scales with how many agents you run. The high comment count is largely people relitigating whether rewriting history this easily is a good idea at all.
