Google Sheets canvas turns spreadsheets into prompt-generated interactive mini-apps

Launched August 13, 2026, Sheets canvas lets users describe a dashboard, study tracker, or seating chart in natural language and have Gemini build an interactive 'mini-app' that stays synced in real time with the underlying spreadsheet, editable by drag-and-drop and shareable as a tab. It is available immediately to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, Workspace Business/Enterprise Standard and Plus plans, and Google AI Pro for Education add-on subscribers, via 'Create canvas' in the Ask Gemini side panel. Google did not specify which Gemini model powers it.
