OpenAI Codex Adds "Computer History" — Opt-In Access to macOS App and Website Activity Timelines
OpenAI Codex Changelog·medium signal
On August 13 OpenAI shipped Computer History to Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers: ChatGPT and Codex can draw on activity memories and timelines from apps and websites on macOS, with per-app opt-in and the ability to review or delete history. This is the same context-acquisition move Cursor made with Google Workspace plugins on August 3, but reaching further down the stack into OS-level activity rather than named SaaS connectors. Anyone running Codex on a machine that also holds client or employer data should audit which apps are contributing before enabling it.
