Deloitte: only 16% of leaders say their processes are ready for agentic AI, and just 20% can redesign a process to run autonomously
Deloitte's agentic AI readiness report (published 2026-08-14) puts numbers on the gap between agent pilots and operating-model change: 16% of leaders call their processes ready, only 5% say highly prepared, and just 20% believe their organization can redesign business processes to run autonomously with agents. Among organizations that already deployed agents at scale, preparedness jumps to 46%, suggesting readiness follows deployment rather than preceding it. Half of leaders say they understand how agents will affect their operating model and half say they are underinvesting in workforce change, while 43% expect "a lot to extreme" job disruption within 12–18 months; respondents project 31% of processes redesigned in two years, 74% in four.
