Salesforce Cut 133 Engineering-Region Roles in Seattle and San Francisco Effective October While Selling Agentforce as the Productivity Story
Crunchbase's layoff tracker, updated August 13, lists Salesforce cutting 133 roles effective early October — 59 in Seattle/Bellevue and 74 in San Francisco — alongside Google reducing engineering, design and recruiting headcount across Kirkland, Redmond, Seattle and remote staff in September and October, TikTok closing its Nashville office with 250 roles, Etsy cutting ~220 (about 12%, mostly product and engineering), and ClimateAI shutting down entirely. Notably, none of the August entries cite AI as the stated reason — Etsy's CEO explicitly denied it. The gap between what vendors sell externally and what they disclose in WARN filings is itself the signal: the agent productivity claim is showing up in headcount reductions well before it shows up in any company's stated rationale.
