ChatGPT Desktop Hits Linux Preview and Can Import Your Claude Code, Cowork and Cursor Setup
OpenAI Codex Changelog·medium signal
OpenAI's Aug 11 Codex changelog entry put the ChatGPT desktop app into preview on Ubuntu, Debian and Fedora, and — more notably — added one-click import of existing setup from Claude Code, Claude Cowork and Cursor, with optional automatic sync. A vendor shipping a first-class importer for two direct competitors' configuration is a deliberate switching-cost attack. It also means your agent config is now a portable asset worth version-controlling rather than a per-tool artifact.
