DigitalOcean Rose 5% on Aug 17 for Reselling Two Open-Source Agents as Managed Hosting — Fastly Fell 4% the Same Day
Cloudways made Managed AI Agents generally available on Aug 12, offering one-click hosting for OpenClaw and Hermes (the Nous Research self-improving runtime) with servers, Docker, SSL, patching and backups handled, plus Slack, Discord, Telegram and WhatsApp channels. DigitalOcean closed up 5% at $137.04 on Aug 17 — now +170% year-to-date — while Fastly fell 4% to $28.67 on a down day for cloud. The notable part is what got rewarded: neither agent is DigitalOcean's IP, so the market is currently paying a premium for packaging third-party open-source agents as managed infrastructure.
