Google Pushes Gemini Into Study Workflows With Five New Search Learning Tools

Google launched a set of back-to-school study features across Search and Gemini on August 19, including notebook-style capture and ask-Google surfaces built into results pages. The move is aimed squarely at making Gemini the default assistant students reach for while studying, in direct competition with OpenAI's education push. Education is the wedge both labs are using to set habit defaults before users pick a paid assistant.
